Next stop Syria ?

Someone mentioned the other day that it's the hard-line islamists in Syria who want to overthrow the government because the wearing of full burkha was banned by Assad a few months ago. I had totally forgotten about that. The uprising is definitely Sunni (read that as Saudi Arabia or evil incarnate) instigated and so there is that 99.99% possibility that the fundamentalists have riled up the public against the regime and when Assad falls, Syria will become another Moslem Bros stronghold.  From the frying pan into the fire .... so to speak.

What are the chances that the USA will interfere here too along with their usual minions?  Yes, they will.  And they might pull Canada in with them too.... wait and watch.   Saudi Arabia rules the world ... don't you know?

After Syrian forces killed 27 demonstrators in another bloody day of protests, the United States threatened to take more action against the country if the violence does not stop.

"The United States believes that Syria's deplorable actions toward its people warrant a strong international response," the White House said in one of its strongest statements yet, AFP reports.

It stated that if the government does not stop its crackdown on peaceful protesters, "the United States and its international partners will take additional steps to make clear our strong opposition to the Syrian government's treatment of its people."

The army entered Banias, a Mediterranean coastal city of 50,000 people, from three directions, advancing into Sunni districts but not Alawite neighborhoods, the campaigner said.

Most communication with Banias has been cut but the campaigner said he was able to contact several residents.  "Residents are reporting the sound of heavy gunfire and seeing Syrian navy boats off the Banias coast. Sunni and mixed neighborhoods are totally besieged now," said the campaigner, who did not want to be identified for security reasons.

Rami Abdul Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights based in London, told Reuters that regular army units were present in the center of Banias but the authorities had now sent special units into the northern side of the city.....
