Toronto school promoting Israeli military deemed ‘charity’
Canada’s largest private high school recently
organized a genocide solidarity trip in which students cooked for
Israeli soldiers. In a sane world, the school’s charitable status would
be revoked.
At the start of March, 36 students at TanenbaumCHAT, Canada’s largest
private high school, traveled to a state that has slaughtered 15,000 children over the past seven months. The Toronto high school described it
as a “Solidarity Mission to Israel.” In its description of the trip,
the school reports that students were “BBQ-ing for soldiers on an army
base”.
The group also met privately with
Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who reportedly told them, “You are here
— the first school since 7/10 — standing with us, and we stand with
you. There are many voices against us, but I say to you all, be proud,
stand strong. Together we will prevail.”
The students who participated in the “Solidarity Mission” reported
back to the entire school about visiting a state committing genocide........
Well friends, the verdict is in! If you are
opposed to Israel’s slaughter of something like forty thousand
Palestinians, mostly women and children, or the clearly enunciated plans
by that nation’s government to ethnically cleanse the rest of historic
Palestine, making the developing Eretz or Greater Israel a legally
Jewish state, and are prepared to protest or speak up about it, then you
are an antisemite Jew-hater and probably even a holocaust denier. If
you are a student demonstrating against the slaughter you are
increasingly being referred to by talking heads and the media as a
pro-Hamas terrorist. That you must be condemned and sanctioned or even
criminalized as a consequence of the labels is only fair in a country
that apparently has come to believe that Jews and Israel, uniquely,
cannot be criticized due to their cited ad nauseam victimhood
and their anointment by God no matter what the First Amendment to the US
Constitution relating to freedom of speech might say. After all, it’s
just an old piece of paper though it might strike some as a bit odd that
a group of people carrying out a genocide are being given a pass while
those trying to stop it are being beaten, going to jail and, in some
cases, being denied that degree they earned from four years at college................
Opposing The War Machine Is Cool Again, And The Empire's Getting Nervous
American rapper Macklemore has released a single titled “Hind’s Hall”,
the name given to Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall by anti-genocide
protesters in honor of the six year-old Hind Rajab who was murdered in
Gaza by Israeli forces. The artist says all proceeds from the track will
go to UNRWA.
The song with its accompanying video is
such a scathing indictment of the US-backed destruction of Gaza that
Google-owned YouTube promptly age-restricted it.
Macklemore attacks Biden, the brutal police crackdowns on protesters,
the conflation of anti-Zionism with anti-semitism, US politicians and
the Israel lobby, with lines that will haunt you for days like “The
Nakba never ended, the colonizer lied.”
This marks the
first really mainstream artist to take on this issue in their chosen
medium with a track intended for widespread circulation. It probably
won’t be the last. Opposing the Gaza genocide is quickly moving from the
right thing to do to the cool thing to do, which is a major problem for
the empire......

The children hear the dogs snarling outside, just beyond the flimsy plastic of the tent.
The
seven children of Rehab Abu Daqqa crowd around their mother. She is the
last safe harbour in their lives. They have shared things, these
children and their mother, which cannot be communicated to those who
have not seen the things they have seen. Is there a word to express what
a child feels knowing that just a few yards away, animals are dragging a
body from a grave?
The vocabulary of childhood is inadequate amid the horrors of this emergency cemetery in Rafah.
Scared is the word Rehab Abu Daqqa uses.
That
is accurate. But there is more to it, she knows. The children have seen
dogs eating the bodies. A human leg lying by a fence. So yes they are
scared. But revolted too, and uncomprehending. The children who once had
a home, went to school, lived according to the established rhythms of
their family and community, are now refugees in a place that reeks of
death.
"This
morning the dogs took out a body from one of the graves and were eating
it," Rehab Abu Daqqa says. "From night until dawn the dogs do not let
us sleep… our children keep holding on to me because of how scared they
are.".....
This account of U.S. interference in Ukraine, which can be traced to
fateful decisions made by the Obama administration, including then-Vice
President Biden and his top aides, is based on often overlooked public
disclosures. It also relies on the personal testimony of Andrii
Telizhenko, a former Ukrainian diplomat and Democratic Party-tied
political consultant who worked closely with U.S. officials to promote
regime change in Ukraine.
Although he once welcomed Washington’s influence in Ukraine,
Telizhenko now takes a different view. “I'm a Ukrainian who knew how
Ukraine was 30 years ago, and what it became today,” he says. “For me,
it's a total failed state.” In his view, Ukraine has been “used directly
by the United States to fight a [proxy] war with Russia” and “as a rag
to make money for people like Biden and his family.”
The State Department has accused
Telizhenko being part of a "Russia-linked foreign influence network."
In Sept. 2020 it revoked his visa to travel to the United States.
Telizhenko, who now lives in a western European country where he was
granted political asylum, denies working with Russia and says that he is
a whistleblower speaking out to expose how U.S. interference has
ravaged his country. RealClearInvestigations has confirmed that he
worked closely with top American officials while they advanced policies
aimed at severing Ukraine’s ties to Russia. No official contacted for
this article – including former CIA chief John Brennan and senior State
Department official Victoria Nuland – disputed any of his claims............
The European Parliament on Tuesday voted by a very large majority in
favour of adding—as a minimum—the practice of surrogacy to its legal
definition of human trafficking.
The vote counted 563 in favour, 7 against, and 17 abstentions,
demonstrating the existence of a very broad consensus on condemning the
practice of surrogacy among members of the European Parliament, whatever
their political persuasion.
This was a revision
of the 2011 European directive on trafficking in human beings, which
will now include “the exploitation of surrogate motherhood,” as well as
illegal adoption and forced marriage. The revision was initiated by MEP François-Xavier Bellamy,
who is once again heading the list for the French centre-right Les
Républicains party, a member of the European People’s Party (EPP).
To coincide with the vote, Bellamy organised a conference at the
European Parliament on the issue of surrogacy in association with Olivia
Maurel, a Frenchwoman who was herself born through surrogacy, now the
spokesman for the Casablanca Declaration, the international organisation
to ban surrogacy. Bernard Garcia Larrain, the Declaration’s
coordinator, was at her side.................
Israel used a US weapon in a March airstrike which killed seven healthcare workers in southern Lebanon,
according to a Guardian analysis of shrapnel found at the site of the
attack, which was described by Human Rights Watch as a violation of
international law.
Seven volunteer paramedics,
aged between 18 and 25, were killed in the 27 March attack on an
ambulance center belonging to the Lebanese Succor Association in the
town of al-Habariyeh in south Lebanon on 27 March.
The Guardian examined the remnants of a 500lb Israeli MPR bomb and a
US-manufactured Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) recovered by first
responders from the scene of the attack. Pictures of the shrapnel sent
by the Guardian were further verified by Human Rights Watch and an
independent arms expert.......
By Juan ColeAnn Arbor (Informed Comment) – The Committee to Protect Journalists on
Sunday condemned the Israeli cabinet’s decision to ban the Al Jazeera
news network in Israel. The network’s office was closed and its
equipment was confiscated. Israeli cable channels were forced to delete
Al Jazeera from their offerings, and even its website has been blocked
for Israeli residents. Since Israeli news channels do not show the
effects of the government’s total war on Gaza civilians, the Qatar-based
channel had been one of the few sources of comprehensive coverage of
the Gaza campaign for those Israelis who know English or Arabic.
On April 1, the Israeli parliament, dominated by the country’s far
right parties, passed a law permitting the government to halt the
broadcast of foreign channels in Israel “if the content is deemed to be a
threat to the country’s security during the ongoing war.”
Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi called Al Jazeera an “incitement
channel” and a “mouthpiece of Hamas.” It was a ridiculous charge for
anyone who actually watches the live stream of Al Jazeera English.
Carlos Martinez de la Serna, the New York-based director of the
Committee to Protect Journalists, said, “CPJ condemns the closure of
Al-Jazeera’s office in Israel and the blocking of the channel’s
websites. This move sets an extremely alarming precedent for restricting
international media outlets working in Israel. The Israeli cabinet must
allow Al-Jazeera and all international media outlets to operate freely
in Israel, especially during wartime.”..........
A
disagreement or a criticism, before it turns into a fight, or a fight
which might be reduced to a mere disagreement or criticism: Where we
start or end is the frontier between phrases and fists. It really is
that simple. The only way to prove any idea to be false is to kill
everyone who holds it. At least that is certainly one of the more
popular ways to resolve incoherence between verbal and non-verbal
behaviour. My temperament at the end of the 18th calendar week was
shaped considerably by the recognition that the disputes which dominate
the public debate, gaols and battlefields, not to mention the queues of
suffering, have been quite successfully reduced to exchanges between
those armed with fighter-bombers, assault rifles, judges and police and
those whose principal responses are restricted to hide and/or die.................

"..Civil War was a sobering and depressing movie. I think it is a foreshadowing of what lies ahead. Innocent people will die. Senseless slaughter will be the norm. The boundaries between good and evil will blur....
We have only seen a handful of movies in a theater over the last
decade. Ever since the kids grew up, there hasn’t been a reason to spend
too much for too little. Regal Cinemas in Oaks was the place to go in
the old days. It had 24 theaters and was always packed. You could never
get a parking spot close to the venue. The restaurant near the theater
always had a line and you usually had to wait 30 minutes to get a seat.
We decided to go and see Civil War on Friday night, and boy times
have changed. Regal Cinemas went bankrupt a few years ago after Covid,
and the theater was taken over by some local businessmen. They now play
four or five movies, but $10 per ticket is pretty reasonable compared to
the chains. Instead of hundreds of cars in the parking lot, there were
about 30 cars. We expected a long wait time at the PJ Whelihans, but
there were dozens of seats at the bar and booths.
In the summer following Israel’s 2006 (unsuccessful) war on Hizbullah,
Dick Cheney sat in his office loudly bemoaning Hizbullah’s continuing
strength; and worse still, that it seemed to him that Iran had been the
primary beneficiary from the U.S. 2003 Iraq war.
Cheney’s guest – the then Saudi Intelligence Chief, Prince Bandar – vigorously concurred (as chronicled
by John Hannah, who participated in the meeting) and, to general
surprise, Prince Bandar proclaimed that Iran yet could be cut to size:
Syria was the ‘weak’ link between Iran and Hizbullah that could be
collapsed via an Islamist insurgency, Bandar proposed. Cheney’s
initial scepticism turned to elation as Bandar said that U.S.
involvement would be unnecessary: He, Prince Bandar, would orchestrate
and manage the project. ‘Leave it to me’, he said.
Bandar separately told John Hannah: “The King knows that other than the collapse of the Islamic Republic itself, nothing would weaken Iran more than losing Syria”.
Thus began a new phase of attrition on
Iran. The regional balance of power was to be decisively shifted towards
Sunni Islam – and the region’s monarchies.................

A Brief History of Kill Lists, From Langley to Lavender
by Medea Benjamin and Nicolas J.S. Davies / April 16th, 2024
The Israeli online magazine +972 has published a detailed report
on Israel’s use of an artificial intelligence (AI) system called
“Lavender” to target thousands of Palestinian men in its bombing
campaign in Gaza. When Israel attacked Gaza after October 7, the
Lavender system had a database of 37,000 Palestinian men with suspected
links to Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
Lavender
assigns a numerical score, from one to a hundred, to every man in Gaza,
based mainly on cellphone and social media data, and automatically adds
those with high scores to its kill list of suspected militants. Israel
uses another automated system, known as “Where’s Daddy?”, to call in
airstrikes to kill these men and their families in their homes.
The
report is based on interviews with six Israeli intelligence officers
who have worked with these systems. As one of the officers explained to
+972, by adding a name from a Lavender-generated list to the Where’s
Daddy home tracking system, he can place the man’s home under constant
drone surveillance, and an airstrike will be launched once he comes
home.
The officers said the “collateral” killing of the men’s
extended families was of little consequence to Israel. “Let’s say you
calculate [that there is one] Hamas [operative] plus 10 [civilians in
the house],” the officer said. “Usually, these 10 will be women and
children. So absurdly, it turns out that most of the people you killed
were women and children.”

The blacklisting is the result of a long-running

This is huge! ... Reviving relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran will make a lot of new things possible.
That Iran and Saudi Arabia accepted China's mediation is a
recognition of Beijing's new standing in world policies. That alone is
enough reason for the White House to hate the deal.
For the last 30 years the U.S. considered the Middle East as
its backyard. Twenty years ago it illegally invaded Iraq and caused
100,000nds of death and decades of chaos. Now China, by peaceful means,
changed the balance in the Middle East within just one month. ... Xi and Putin are now running the multilateral global show. Biden and the hapless 'unilateral' people around him are left aside.
Amwaj.media, which translates everything into
Persian, Arabic and English, has published a piece written by two
academics from Iran and Saudi Arabia. Such cooperation is still rare.
This can then be seen as a semi-official explanation and/or vision of
those countries' global policies.....
Several articles on the proposed amendments to
the WHO’s international health regulations have appeared here on
Brownstone, such as this excellent introduction.
Consequently, there is no need to repeat this information in a similar
format. What I would like to do instead is to pursue the question, what
the implications would be for people worldwide if this organisation were
to be successful in getting the representatives of member countries to
accept the proposed amendments. More specifically, what are the likely
consequences in terms of the concept and practice of totalitarianism?
To understand this, one has to get to grips with the mode of rule
called totalitarian government, of course, but I doubt whether most
people have an adequate grasp of full-fledged totalitarian rule, despite
recently experiencing it to a certain degree under ‘pandemic’
conditions. Should the amendments proposed by the WHO be accepted in
May, the citizens of the world would be subjected to unadulterated
totalitarianism, however, so it is worthwhile exploring the full
implications of this ‘anonymous’ mode of governance here.

The use of ivermectin to treat COVID-19 is an ongoing debate. The central conflict is that while many doctors have reported success in using ivermectin, some studies published in major journals suggest it is in fact ineffective.
Even as the FDA recently has been removing misinformation it posted about ivermectin, the agency has maintained its original position regarding its effectiveness, namely that there isn’t evidence.
People who trust ivermectin claim the studies showing ineffectiveness are fraudulent, while people who are skeptical of its use for treating COVID-19 view it as an anti-science conspiracy theory.

..............When teaching law students the values of the Bill of Rights, I often
began with a curious hypothetical. If the states ratified a
constitutional amendment repealing the First Amendment, would the
freedom of speech still exist in America? The short answer to that
question is: Yes. The longer answer reflects that speech is not just a
constitutional right. Because free speech comes from our humanity — a
gift of our Creator — we have and can exercise this right whether it is
reduced to writing and recognized by the government or not.
Moreover, every person employed by any government anywhere in the
United States takes an oath of allegiance to the Constitution, which
includes all of its amendments. You’d never know that from events during
the past week.
‘Lavender’: The AI machine directing Israel’s bombing spree in Gaza

in English under the pen name “Brigadier General Y.S.” In it, the
author — a man who we confirmed to be the current commander of the elite
Israeli intelligence unit 8200 — makes the case for designing a special
machine that could rapidly process massive amounts of data to generate
thousands of potential “targets” for military strikes in the heat of a

“human bottleneck for both locating the new targets and decision-making
to approve the targets.”.................

The Grayzone on the Israel/Palestine/Iran/Jordan, etc.
Last week, the UN Special Rapporteur on Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese issued a report
titled “Anatomy of a Genocide,” concluding that there are “reasonable
grounds to believe” that the threshold indicating the commission of the
crime of genocide has been met.
Such reports are not usually titled, but the title itself depicts the
nature of what Albanese describes in her immaculate 25-page report. It
not only outlines a textbook case of genocide, with clearly and widely
expressed intent by leaders backed up by clear genocidal actions — it
also describes how Israel has used the language and principles of
International Humanitarian Law (IHL, the laws governing warfare) to
conceal the act.
Albanese begins with the historical context of the genocide, even
rooted in Israeli pre-state colonialist intents, and then charts out how
Israel has committed three central facets under the crime of genocide —
the killing of members of a particular group of people, causing bodily
or mental harm, and creating destructive conditions of life. There is
also a section concerning intent that chronicles some of the countless,
unambiguous, genocidal expressions of Israeli leaders. ..................
‘We’ll wipe them out in the outhouse’: Russia’s long and bloody fight against terrorism
The attack at the Crocus City Hall is just the
latest episode in the country’s more than 30-year struggle against
violent extremism
Last week, terrorists opened fire on concert goers before a show by
the band Picnic at Moscow's Crocus City Hall. As a result of the attack,
a fire started which spread to an area of 13,000 square meters and
wasn't extinguished until the next evening. 143 people were killed and
182 injured. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported the
arrest of 11 suspects, most of whom have already been brought to court.
It
was the deadliest act of terrorism in Russia for the past 20 years. In
recent decades, the country has suffered from both small-scale (but no
less tragic) terrorist acts – which are not well known internationally –
and major tragedies which have resulted in many deaths. They have taken
place both in Moscow and other regions of the country. ......
Death Toll in Israeli Airstrikes on Syria’s Aleppo Rises to 52
38 Syrian soldiers, 7 Hezbollah members among the dead
Syria’s Aleppo Province saw the deadliest Israeli attacks in years
on Friday, when Israeli warplanes hit multiple targets in the Aleppo
countryside and targeted a Hezbollah warehouse near Aleppo’s airport. The warehouse reportedly housed rockets, and the attack resulted in a series of explosions.
As of Saturday, at least 52 people were reported killed
in the Israeli attacks, 38 of them Syrian soldiers, 7 pro-Iranian
forces and 7 members of Hezbollah. The toll may yet rise further,
however, as civilians were also reported slain and still do not appear
in the final count. Dozens were also reported wounded.
Israel declined comment on the killings in Syria, saying they do not
comment on reports of their strikes from the media. They did however claim to have killed the deputy head of Hezbollah’s rocket and missile unit in a separate attack on southern Lebanon.
Israel’s involvement in the attacks doesn’t appear to be in any
serious doubt, however, as Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made comments
on the matter referring to it as a “successful termination like the one
executed this morning.” He suggested more attacks on pro-Iran factions
should be expected as rockets continue to fly from Lebanon.....
Following
a long legal battle, Germany’s public health agency, the Robert Koch
Institute (RKI), has released the confidential protocols that show the
RKI was aware that “lockdowns cause more harm than good” and evidence
for “making masks mandatory was lacking.”
The RKI voiced concerns in 2020 that shutting down German society
could lead to increased child mortality and other negative outcomes. The
RKI experts also disagreed with the implementation of FFP2 face masks,
saying there was a lack of data to support such a measure.
“Active
communication would make sense in order to make clear why the RKI does
not recommend this measure,” notes the minute regarding implementing
FFP2 mask regulations. The agency even notes in the minutes that it
would tell the public it did not support FFP2 mask regulations, but
notably, the agency never did so despite mass protests against mandatory
masks and other harsh measures.
The
2,500 pages of documents also contain a passage noting that experts
warned that lockdowns could “do more harm than good,” with experts
citing lockdowns in Africa and the negative outcomes seen there.
An Israeli woman taken captive by Palestinian fighters on 7 October
2023 is grateful to the helicopter pilot who shot at the vehicle she was

her home at gunpoint by Palestinian fighters and transported to the
Gaza Strip, where she was held for 55 days. She was released on

Before she reached Gaza, however, a vehicle carrying Goren away came under heavy fire from an Israeli combat helicopter.
When the gunfire ceased, Goren realized that the helicopter’s
high-caliber bullets had killed all of her abductors, as well as one
Israeli woman, fellow Nir Oz resident Efrat Katz.
“My pants are all ripped and covered in blood. I raise my head and
see dominoes,” Goren recalled to Ilana Dayan, host of Channel 12’s
prestigious investigative program Uvda – and by coincidence also her cousin. “All the terrorists – dead.”....
Though the resolution fell short of clearly demanding
a ceasefire, Moscow and Beijing nevertheless enable Biden to shift the
blame to Russia for the Council's inaction, even though Biden has been
the key obstacle to progress at the Council for the last six months.
Though
much of the debate will be on their vetoes, an analysis of the
resolution text reveals both movements in Biden's position, as well as
why his shift remains insufficient in many aspects.
First of all, this is significantly stronger than previous American drafts, yet it still falls short of a clear and unequivocal demand for an unconditional ceasefire. One one hand, it no longer calls for a ceasefire as soon as practicable,
as a previous U.S. resolution did, which was a remarkably weak
formulation. But the operative clause is still very convoluted and
unnecessarily complicated — which has become the hallmark of everything
Biden has done on Gaza:............

Macron leads the way to Western civilization’s suicide
France has just made abortion, already legal, a
constitutional right – a sign of the country’s morbid drive to
self-destruction
By Matthieu Buge,
The Olympics will not be the only big event and source of euphoria in
Paris in 2024. While Russian President Vladimir Putin is encouraging
his population to have more children, Macron’s France is celebrating the
‘enshrinement’ of abortion in the constitution. What does this say
about France and the West in general?
In 2022, there were 234,300
abortions in France. The procedure is legal upon request until 14 weeks
after conception. These figures are interesting when one considers that
French politicians (and elderly voters, who are the majority of the
electorate) insist on maintaining the extremely costly pension system
and say that it has a price. Someone needs to pay. That is, the active
population needs to pay. You would think that to sustain the requisite
size of the active population, it would be more logical to encourage
having more new births than to ‘enshrine’ having fewer. But that’s not
an issue if you import the population.
In 2022, France welcomed
320,330 new people to the country – not counting illegal immigrants.
Immigration in the country has nothing to do anymore with the fact that
France has been a colonial power and that it is dealing with the
consequences of its former policies. More and more people are coming
from countries or regions such as Pakistan, Eritrea, Chechnya… where
France never meddled in local affairs whatsoever......
Doha hunts for whistleblowers who revealed Qatar's funding of ISIS
Top
US officials have repeatedly acknowledged that Gulf states poured
billions in funds and weapons for extremist groups fighting to overthrow
the Syrian government

Qatar National Bank (QNB) and Qatar Charity (QC) are attempting to uncover
the identities of confidential sources that supplied documents to
lawyers representing the family of murdered US journalist Steven
Sotloff, which allege the financial institutions – acting at the behest
of Qatar’s royal family – wired hundreds of thousands of dollars to the
ISIS judge who ordered Sotloff’s execution.
QNB and QC filed an
application on 12 March in the US to obtain “limited discovery” of the
law firm representing Sotloff’s family, specifically regarding the names
of those who provided the bank records linking Doha to the murder.
In an email to Bloomberg,
the general counsel for QNB confirmed the filing and said the bank “is
the victim of an effort to tarnish its reputation” and plans to hold the
individuals “to account to the fullest extent of the law.”
Sotloff and another US journalist, James Foley,
were beheaded in 2014 by ISIS in Syria. The extremist militant group
published videos of its executions online directed at US government
officials.
In a May 2022 lawsuit filed in Florida, Sotloff’s
family accused the Qatari institutions of wiring $800,000 to ISIS judge
Fadhel al-Salim before he ordered Sotloff’s execution. The family also
says Qatar “knowingly funded extremist insurgents” to destabilize the
Syrian government and named both QNB and QC as co-conspirators in the
murder.
“The amount of assistance – $800,000 – was substantial as
evidenced by Salim’s ability to cross over into Syria the very next day
to begin raising his ISIS brigade,” Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks from the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said in May 2023 when he ruled against dismissing the case. .......................
"I'm Using The Force": Musk's Brain Chip Allows Paralyzed Man To Play Civilization VI
Elon Musk's Neuralink Corp. broadcasted a live stream on X featuring
the first patient to receive its brain-computer implant, a 29-year-old
man with quadriplegia. This groundbreaking procedure enables him to
operate a computer cursor using thoughts, allowing him to play online
video games.
In a nine-minute presentation, Neuralink engineer
Bliss Chapman introduced the patient, Noland Arbaugh, who suffered a
spinal cord injury in a "freak diving accident" eight years ago.
"I'm paralyzed below the shoulders. I have no sensation or movement below my level on injury," Arbaugh said.
Another family died yesterday. A dozen families die everyday. They
usually manage to pull a few bodies out of the rubble. The rest remain.
No one has the energy to dig them out. They’re too busy being tired and
hungry. Besides, what would they do with the corpses? They don’t have
funerals anymore, just mass graves. Their homes have become their final
resting places.
Anwar Ghilan tells me he’s been a refugee in Rafah
since the sixty-eighth day of the war. That’s when his apartment in
Gaza City was blown up by the Israeli Defense Forces with just a few
minutes notice. In his Facebook photographs he’s tall, handsome and well
dressed. He’s young, and newly married. His wife’s beautiful, and his
baby’s cute. He has a Master’s degree and teaches English. He was living
the dream. Not anymore. Now there are no jobs. There are barely any
houses. Everyone’s on the streets............
