South Yemen wants to be "de-unified" from the rest of Yemen

The link below gives a good understanding of the why and how to the destruction and bloodshed going on in Yemen to which the MSM doesn't bother to give even the first syllable in the country's name.
Rumor has it (and as we know, rumors tend to become factual soon enough) that Saudi Arabia and its allies are transporting large batches of the undesirables from Syria and brand new ones from Nigeria, to Yemen.  If true, expect many more refugees trekking their way away from Yemen and into the countries whose powers-that-be are deeply involved in each and every war ongoing on our planet.

From SouthernHirak
....The economic and political gains
accrued by Saleh and his allies in North Yemen after unification meant that they could not let the south slip from their hands under any circumstances so unity was then imposed by force.

Unity by force is an occupation of South Yemen.

After the war of 1994 the south was seen as "spoils of war" and the elite of the north can do to the south as they please. So Saleh and his allies from the Islah party (Muslim Brotherhood, Alqaeda) began a campaign of assassinations of southern leaders, military officers, and activists. After the campaign of assassinations, thousand of military checkpoints were set up throughout the south and were ordered to kill and/or imprison secessionists.

Also, former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and his allies from the Islah party (Muslim Brotherhood) settled and financed Alqaeda (AQAP) in South Yemen in order to subdue southerners and keep South Yemen in shambles while northern security forces enforced the full occupation of South Yemen and Saleh and his allies looted southern land and resources. ....

....Mandatory retirement was forced upon 467,649 employees of the army, without giving them retirement benefits.

Confiscation of 42% of southern land specifically in Aden and the relocation of hundreds of thousands of northerners to the south in order to alter the demographic landscape of the south.

25 years of looting southern resources from oil and gas to agriculture and fisheries.

That's on top of constant killing of southerners and attacks on southern cities and villages by northern forces.....

Syria – Peace Talks and an Empire Running Amok

Constant western-biased anti-Russia, anti-Assad propaganda is not offering the friendly neutral environment needed to talk seriously about peace.
February in Geneva. It is utterly frustrating living the daily lie and slander propaganda against Russia and against President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, of this ‘neutral’ country, Switzerland, where soon peace talks are expected to begin. The UN hub in Geneva has in the past often served for peace negotiations, for mediation talks, but also failed more often than not, always when the American interests were not accommodated by an agreement.

How could it be different in the case of Syria? – Switzerland, like Brussels, has become the epicentre of European neoliberal politics with a broadcast system emitting half-hourly Putin and Assad bashing news.........
The first being labelled as a human rights abuser responsible for the Ukrainian war, for the ‘annexation’ of Crimea, for thousands of Syrian deaths and tens of thousands of refugees, as a result of Russia bombarding Syria; refugees stranded and starving at the Turkish border and eventually invading Europe. Mr. Assad is being called a ferocious dictator, who does not shy from killing his own people and has to be removed for the good of the world. There is constant talk about a ‘transition government’, meaning without Mr. Assad, not even remotely considering that Syria is a sovereign nation, and that the Syrian people should have a say in who will be their president – and not at all foreign forces, who are responsible for the criminal massacres and war in the first place.

Mr. Assad and his secular Arab Socialist Ba’ath party is indeed not convenient for the neo-colonial interests of the west. Never mind that he had been re-elected with more than 80% majority by Syrians, just about 20 months ago. Mr. Gadaffi, who intended with the riches of Libya to free Africa from the continuous ....

The media are misleading the public on Syria

Coverage of the Syrian war will be remembered as one of the most shameful episodes in the history of the American press. Reporting about carnage in the ancient city of Aleppo is the latest reason why.

For three years, violent militants have run Aleppo. Their rule began with a wave of repression. They posted notices warning residents: “Don’t send your children to school. If you do, we will get the backpack and you will get the coffin.” Then they destroyed factories, hoping that unemployed workers would have no recourse other than to become fighters. They trucked looted machinery to Turkey and sold it.
This month, people in Aleppo have finally seen glimmers of hope. The Syrian army and its allies have been pushing militants out of the city. Last week they reclaimed the main power plant. Regular electricity may soon be restored. The militants’ hold on the city could be ending.......

....Americans are being told that the virtuous course in Syria is to fight the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian partners. We are supposed to hope that a righteous coalition of Americans, Turks, Saudis, Kurds, and the “moderate opposition” will win.

This is convoluted nonsense, but Americans cannot be blamed for believing it. We have almost no real information about the combatants, their goals, or their tactics. Much blame for this lies with our media.

Under intense financial pressure, most American newspapers, magazines, and broadcast networks have drastically reduced their corps of foreign correspondents. Much important news about the world now comes from reporters based in Washington. In that environment, access and credibility depend on acceptance of official paradigms. Reporters who cover Syria check with the Pentagon, the State Department, the White House, and think tank “experts.” After a spin on that soiled carousel, they feel they have covered all sides of the story. This form of stenography produces the pabulum that passes for news about Syria.....

From The Burning Platform:
....It appears there is an existential shortage of paint, hammers, garbage bags,
wedding rings, and employed upstanding men taking responsibility for the children they father in West Philly. There is plenty of yellow crime scene tape, as West Philly accounts for a significant portion of Philadelphia’s 280 annual murders (up 13% in 2015). Houses originally well built in the 1950s and with some upkeep would still be fine homes, are in disrepair, with collapsing porches, dilapidated gutters and roofs, crumbling sidewalks, boarded up windows, and satellite dishes on every one. The lucky end units usually have a mural of black people doing great things, with trash, garbage and overgrown weeds underneath and black people not doing great things shuffling along the streets.....

As you witness the crumbling infrastructure of West Philly, with water mains bursting on a regular basis, streets sinking, houses falling down during heavy rainstorms, boarded up rat infested hovels housing drug addicts, and schools resembling prisons, it leaves you pondering how it came to this and why the fifty year War on Poverty left the people in these neighborhoods mover impoverished. I don’t blame the people stuck living in West Philly. I blame the corrupt politicians who have run the city for the last sixty years.

Liberal solutions based upon welfare handouts, union government workers, idiotic solutions sold by slimy politicians and high taxes have combined to create a morass of uneducated, unmotivated, unmarried people who live in squalor created by the very politicians they have been voting for over the last six decades. The city has been under the complete control of the Democratic Party the entire time.....

Robert F Kennedy,Jr. at Politico
In part because my father was murdered by an Arab,
I've made an effort to understand the impact of U.S. policy in the Mideast and particularly the factors that sometimes motivate bloodthirsty responses from the Islamic world against our country. As we focus on the rise of the Islamic State and search for the source of the savagery that took so many innocent lives in Paris and San Bernardino, we might want to look beyond the convenient explanations of religion and ideology. Instead we should examine the more complex rationales of history and oil—and how they often point the finger of blame back at our own shores.

America’s unsavory record of violent interventions in Syria—little-known to the American people yet well-known to Syrians—sowed fertile ground for the violent Islamic jihadism that now complicates any effective response by our government to address the challenge of ISIL. So long as the American public and policymakers are unaware of this past, further interventions are likely only to compound the crisis. Secretary of State John Kerry this week announced a “provisional” ceasefire in Syria. But since U.S. leverage and prestige within Syria is minimal—and the ceasefire doesn’t include key combatants such as Islamic State and al Nusra--it’s bound to be a shaky truce at best. Similarly President Obama’s stepped-up military intervention in Libya—U.S. airstrikes targeted an Islamic State training camp last week—is likely to strengthen rather than weaken the radicals. As the New York Times reported in a December 8, 2015, front-page story, Islamic State political leaders and strategic planners are working to provoke an American military intervention. They know from experience this will flood their ranks with volunteer fighters, drown the voices of moderation and unify the Islamic world against America.

To understand this dynamic, we need to look at history from the Syrians’ perspective and particularly the seeds of the current conflict. Long before our 2003 occupation of Iraq triggered the Sunni uprising that has now morphed into the Islamic State, the CIA had....

Saudi Arabia’s anger over the Iran nuclear deal and the failure to achieve “regime change” in Syria, has turned a blind eye to Riyadh’s savaging of Yemen, even though that is helping Al Qaeda militants expand their territory, writes Jonathan Marshall.

By Jonathan Marshall
For nearly a year, the Obama administration has turned a blind eye to the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen since Saudi Arabia invaded in March 2015 to crush an Iranian-supported insurgency and restore a discredited former president to power. But Washington cannot so easily ignore the rapid resurgence of a dangerous branch of Al Qaeda that is thriving on the chaos to take control of much of southern Yemen.

The war between indigenous Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed supporters of former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi has cost more than 6,000 lives and caused more than 35,000 casualties.
What a United Nations report called “widespread and systematic” attacks against civilians by Saudi and Gulf emirate pilots, armed with U.S.-made aircraft and cluster bombs that are banned by international treaty, account for the bulk of civilian deaths and for the wholesale destruction of ancient cities and cultural centers.

In addition, a Saudi-imposed blockade on Yemen, supported by Washington, has allowed only a trickle ....

"Villages that remained loyal to the Syrian regime have paid a steep price"

And, of course, the MSM in the West, all of which is owned by just a handful of the elite (powers-that-be) that want Assad out and a secular Syria destroyed, would rarely tell you anything about it, unless it was something the MSM could use to smear the legitimate government of Syria.

Just think for a moment how low the powers-that-be have sunk to when they prefer to side with al-Qaeda and affiliates (which includes all jihadis, whether they go by a myriad of exotic names or just by ISIS or IS) in order to rid Syria of Assad in favor of Saudi Arabia's wahhabi-style governance. To think that the Anglo nations under Israel's and KSA's pressure and influence, sided with the bad guys will always bring a bad taste to the mouths of folks who know what's going on in this world and will never hide our heads in the sand, NO MATTER WHAT.

Robert Fisk at Independent UK
Syria civil war: The untold story of the siege of two   small Shia villages - and how the world turned a blind eye
Villages that remained loyal to the Syrian regime have paid a steep price
This is the untold story of the three-and-a-half-year siege of two small Shia Muslim villages in northern Syria. Although their recapture by the Syrian army – and by Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Iraqi Shia militias – caught headlines for a few hours three weeks ago, the world paid no heed to the suffering of these people, their 1,000 “martyrs”, at least half of them civilians, and the 100 children who died of shellfire and starvation.

For these were villages that remained loyal to the Syrian regime and paid the price – and were thus unworthy of our attention, which remained largely fixed on those civilians suffering under siege by government forces elsewhere. ....

....Wanous was deeply upset in recalling this. Had some of the calls came from people he knew personally? I asked. “Yes”, he said. “The ones who threatened me often were from my own police force. They came from my own policemen – of course, they had my mobile number. Some calls came from sons of my own friends.” Of Wanous’s 15‑man police force, five stayed loyal to him. The other 10 defected to Nusra. ....

....Many of the civilians died because their wounds could not be cared for. We ran out of petrol early on. They cut off all electricity.” ...

....When the siege began, Wanous said, the Syrian government resupplied the villagers with food, bread, flour and medicine. The helicopters also dropped ammunition. There were three or four flights every day during the first year. “Then at about five o’clock, at dawn, on 30 June 2013, a helicopter came to us with some returning villagers from Aleppo and a staff of seven teachers for our schools who were to hold the school exams here,” Wanous said. “Someone in Mayer fired a rocket at the helicopter and the pilot managed to steer it away from the village and it crashed on the hillside outside in a big explosion. There were 17 on board, including the pilot and extra crewman. Everyone died. The bodies were in bits and all were burnt. That was the last helicopter to fly to us.” The wreckage of the helicopter still lies on the hillside....

...But what of their Sunni neighbours? One old woman holding a grandchild in her arms said it would be “very difficult” to forgive them, but her younger companion was more generous. “Before the attacks, we were like one family,” she said. “We didn’t expect we would ever have a problem in the future. But we are simple people and we can forgive everybody.” ...

....But there was one imperishable sight on the walls: a newly minted poster showing the faces of Vladimir Putin, President Bashar al-Assad and Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, the Lebanese Hezbollah leader. Rarely, if ever, have the forces of Russian Orthodoxy, the Alawite sect and Shia Islam been brought so cogently together. ....

Jim Sinclair, Metis leader ... An important part of Canadian history

The vid links unto others if you are inclined to learn more about the Aboriginal people of Canada.

Biography as submitted by the Sinclair Family
Jim Sinclair was born on June 3 , 1933 in Punnichy, Saskatchewan, of Indian parents denied their status under the Indian Act. Treated by the Canadian government as part of a group of Aboriginal people with no rights, he lived in a squatter community with no running water or other services on a road allowance – a bush covered 66-foot wide strip of public land, reserved by the Crown for road building purposes. He was educated at various schools that accepted “road allowance” students. Some schools provided hot lunch programs for students, but excluded the road allowance people, who went hungry because their parents were squatters who did not pay taxes. Jim’s first political involvements were in the Lestock / Punnichy district of Saskatchewan, where there had been an active Métis organization for several years. He became active in the Red Power Movement.

Jim became a field worker for the Métis Society in 1964, and worked throughout Saskatchewan organizing local groups. In 1967, he was elected to the board of the newly formed Métis Society of Saskatchewan. ...

Pro-Turkey Boris Johnson sides with Brexit plan, knowing Brits will vote for separation ....

so no brainer.  If he wants to remain popular with the sheeple and remain focused on becoming the next PM, he has to side with the separatists.

Below is what I had said in 2012 about Muslims holding high office in Anglo nations.  It's happening at a breakneck pace as those of us who can see the obvious are able to not only see but also understand how this has come about.

BTW, the London mayor's lineage is to Turkish Sunni Islam. Johnson himself held an American citizenship until a few years ago, having been born in New York.  How he changed his name from Kemal to Johnson is something I have not delved into. I have had a feeling since that time in 2012 that Johnson would be UK's PM sooner than later.

Boris Johnson, mayor of  London:
"My great-grandfather knew the Koran by heart and I am proud of my Islamic ancestry."

Now the mayor wants his own little "Boris island"  just a prelude to taking over the bigger one.

And guess what else ... the man is more popular than the PM.     Are we looking at the next UK PM in Johnson? You betcha!

You aren't seen nothing yet.  There will be many, many, many more similar revelations leading up to the  complete Caliphate whose progress is now nothing to scoff at.

We reap what we sow.

EU referendum: Time to vote for   real change, says Boris Johnson
The UK's EU membership referendum is a "once-in-a-lifetime chance to vote for real change", Boris Johnson has argued as he declared support for an exit.

The London Mayor confirmed earlier to reporters that he would be campaigning to leave the union.

In a 2,000-word column for The Daily Telegraph, the Conservative MP said staying inside the union would lead to "an erosion of democracy"...

From the TelegraphUK
Boris Johnson's best bet for being PM is Britain voting to stay in the EU
A vote to Leave would make Boris PM, but his premiership would be a nightmare battle with the EU and his party
As a classicist, Boris Johnson knows all about Pyrrhus of Epirus. The Mayor of London ought to be worried that, in championing the Leave side in the upcoming referendum on the European Union, he might follow the ancient Greek general and end up with a pyrrhic victory.

If Boris continues to downplay the risks of Brexit - as he did in his column for The Telegraph - victory could be his worst nightmare. Boris, who is one of my oldest and closest friends, is likely to become prime minister if we vote to quit. He would then have to negotiate our exit terms and preside over what could be a potentially traumatic divorce. .....

Iraq sentences 40 jihadis to death

These are only some from the many more that took part in the killing of 1700 military recruits, most of them Shiites, at Camp Speicher and in nearby Tikrit, in June 2014.

From BBC dated today
IS Camp Speicher massacre: IS Camp Speicher massacre:
Iraq sentences 40 to death
Iraq has sentenced 40 men to death over the killing of up to 1,700 military recruits at a former US base in 2014.

The Camp Speicher massacre was carried out by fighters from the so-called Islamic State (IS) group as they seized territory across northern Iraq.

Isil releases new video of 2014 Speicher massacre
of Shia army recruits
The extremist group are believed to have killed 1,700 soldiers and now a new video shows the victims lying ready for execution in pits
.... Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) released new footage from its deadliest massacre, showing executions on an industrial scale at the Speicher military base after the attack near the Iraqi city of Tikrit last year.

The chilling footage shows young army conscripts falling off the back of trucks and later lying ready for execution in pits or at the edge of the Tigris River. At times, the water runs red with blood.

The soldiers are lined up in their hundreds and shot in shallow graves. The highest estimates put the number of dead at 1,700, most of whom were Shia. At one point, the video shows an excavator being used to move piles of bodies.

Isil’s capture of the Speicher base and nearby Tikrit took place during its lightning sweep across Iraq in June 2014. Government forces and allied Shia militia were only able to begin exhuming bodies in April, after a long and drawn out fight to dislodge Isil militants from Tikrit. ....

Hillary Clinton’s Very Bad Night

Exclusive: The magnitude of Hillary Clinton’s New Hampshire drubbing has establishment Democrats wringing their hands as it dawns on them that no candidate in modern U.S. political history has bounced back from a 22-point loss in that first-in-the-nation primary to win the White House, reports Robert Parry.

By Robert Parry
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s stunning 22-point loss to Sen. Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire is even more devastating when looked at in the context of the modern history of this first-in-the-nation primary: No one has ever lost by such a margin and gone on to win the presidency.

Among Democrats, no one who lost by even half that margin in New Hampshire has recovered to win the party’s nomination. In 2008, Barack Obama lost to Hillary Clinton by 2.6 percentage points; in 1992, Bill Clinton lost to Paul Tsongas by 8.4 percentage points; in 1984, Walter Mondale lost to Gary Hart by 9.4 percentage points; in 1972, George McGovern lost to Edmund Muskie by 9.3 percentage points.

How a war is lost is a serious and dangerous business.
After Henry Kissinger helped sabotage the 1968 Paris peace talks, for domestic political reasons, the War in Vietnam raged for another seven years. In the end Washington’s loss was more humiliating, and millions more lives were destroyed.

The Geneva process over Syria is in many respects different, because it is a charade. The NATO and Gulf monarchy sponsors pretend to support Syrian ‘opposition’ groups and pretend to fight the same extremist groups they created.

Yet the dangers are very real because the Saudis and Turkey might react unpredictably, faced with the failure of their five year project to carve up Syria. Both countries have threatened to invade Syria, to defend their ‘assets’ from inevitable defeat from the powerful alliance Syria has forged with Russia, Iran, Iraq and the better party of Lebanon.
It should be clear by now that every single anti-government armed group in Syria has been created by Washington and its allies. Several senior US officials have admitted the fact. Regime change has always been the goal. Nevertheless, the charade of a ‘War on ISIS’ goes on, with a compliant western media unwilling to point out that ‘the emperor has no clothes’.....

US and Israeli Plan to Dominate UN

... The only way for the United Nations to dig itself out from under the repressive jackboot of Washington and its co-conspirators in Jerusalem is for the Russian sphere and the non-aligned movement to see more of the de facto independent countries in their respective domains gain membership in the world body. That can start with UN membership for the self-declared countries of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, recognized by at least four current members of the UN. There should also be pressure to recognize the independence of and admit to the UN as full members Palestine and the Holy See, both official UN observer states. In order to represent the interests of Orthodox Christianity, the Republic of Mount Athos, a monastic republic within Greece that has semi-autonomous status, should be admitted to the UN to protect, along with the Holy See, the interests of Christians around the world. It would also help the plight of Christians to admit the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, which currently has guest status at the UN; the Coptic government-in-exile of Egypt; and the Principality of the Pontinha in the Atlantic, a self-proclaimed successor state to the realm of the Knights Templar.

Governments-in-exile that should be permitted to join the UN include those of Biafra, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, West Papua, Cabinda, Republic of Serbian Krajina, the Republic of Ambazonia, the Koma Civakên Kurdistan (Kurdish state in eastern Turkey), South Yemen, the Republic of Azawad, the Republic of South Maluku, Chagos Islanders-in-exile, the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam, Lakotah Sioux Nation, the government of the Kingdom of Hawai’i, and the Ukrainian Salvation Committee. These governments have «special scores» to settle with the United States, Israel, and many of their UN allies.....

Currently, the UN represents only special interests of multinational corporations and a few vocal pressure movements such as those beholden to Israel and George Soros’s varied non-governmental organizations like the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the International Organization of Migration. The UN must open its doors to other members in order to truly represent the peoples of the world. Opening the doors of the UN would provide some counterbalance to the newest delegations from Montenegro, Timor-Leste, and South Sudan who cannot spend enough time licking Uncle Sam’s boots.

A Look at Ukraine’s Dark Side
Exclusive: Americans have been carefully shielded from the ugly underbelly of Ukraine’s Maidan uprising in 2014 that overthrew the elected president and installed a U.S.-backed, fiercely anti-Russian regime which has unleashed armed neo-Nazis. But a French documentary has dared to expose this grim reality, as Gilbert Doctorow describes.

By Gilbert Doctorow
A new French documentary depicts a long-denied truth – that Ukraine is in the grip of extreme right-wing nationalists who seek to impose what the British scholar Richard Sakwa has called a monist view of nationhood, one which does not accept minorities or heterogeneity. Rainbow politics is not what the Maidan uprising was all about.

Like the Communism which held power in Ukraine before 1992, this new extreme nationalism can impose its will only by violence or the threat of violence. It is by definition the antithesis of European values of tolerance and multiculturalism.

The North Korean state is routinely mocked in the West for engaging in hyperbole and bombast. Ironically, the Western reaction to its latest satellite launch is a carnival of knee-jerk hysteria and hyperbole. But all the bluster has conveniently given Washington an opportunity to proceed with its global missile shield plans. That is far more destabilizing to international security than any alleged North Korean violation.

In an interview this week on CBS, US President Obama repeated denunciations of North Korea’s rocket launch into outer space last Sunday, which Pyongyang claimed was for the purpose of putting an observation satellite into orbit.

Obama said: «I think we have been concerned about North Korea’s behavior for a while. This is an authoritarian regime. It’s provocative. It has repeatedly violated UN resolutions, tested and produced nuclear weapons and now they are trying to perfect their missile launch system».

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond lambasted North Korea, saying its actions «continue to present a threat to regional and international security».

President Kennedy and His Brother Robert Kennedy Were Murdered By The Military-Security Complex
Presstitute Media, such as the UK Telegraph, spend a lot of energy debunking exposes of government conspiracies. For example, the thousands of highrise architects, structural engineers, physicists, nano-chemists, demolition experts, first responders, military and civilian pilots, and former government officials who have provided vast evidence that the official story of 9/11 is a made-up fairy tale at odds with all evidence and the laws of physics are dismissed by presstitutes as “conspiracy theorists.”

Similarly, those, such as James W. Douglass, who have proven beyond all doubt that President John F. Kennedy was not assassinated by Oswald but by his own paranoid anti-communist military-security complex, are dismissed as conspiracy theorists.

The 9/11 Commission Report and the Warren Commission Report were cover-ups. VP Dick Cheney and the neoconservatives he sponsored needed a “new Pearl Harbor” in order to begin their military assaults on the Middle Eastern countries that had independent foreign policies instead of being US/Israeli vassals. 9/11 was their orchestrated “new Pearl Harbor,” and this fact had to be covered up when 9/11 families persisted in their demands for an investigation and could not be bought off for large sums of money.

Similarly, the Warren Commission had no choice but to cover up that a popular American president, John F. Kennedy, had been murdered by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA, and the Secret Service, because he was believed by paranoid anti-communists to be “soft on communism” and thereby a threat ....

Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Henry Kissinger
At the February 11 Democratic Debate, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton had a spirited exchange about an unlikely topic: the 92-year old former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Sanders berated Clinton for saying that she appreciated the foreign policy mentoring she got from Henry Kissinger. “I happen to believe,” said Sanders, “that Henry Kissinger was one of the most destructive secretaries of state in the modern history of this country.”

In one of Sanders’ rare outbursts of enmity, he added, “I am proud to say that Henry Kissinger is not my friend. I will not take advice from Henry Kissinger. And in fact, Kissinger’s actions in Cambodia, when the United States bombed that country, overthrew Prince Sihanouk, created the instability for Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge to come in, who then butchered some three million innocent people, was one of the worst genocides in the history of the world. So count me in as somebody who will not be listening to Henry Kissinger.”
Clinton went on to defend Kissinger, using the example of China. “His opening up China and his ongoing relationships with the leaders of China is an incredibly useful relationship for the United States of America,” she insisted.

Sanders responded that Kissinger scared Americans about communist China, then opened up trade so U.S. corporations could dump American workers and hire exploited, repressed Chinese....

USA ally Pakistan's hand in the rise of jihadi squads

Did you think the thousands of madrasas operating in Pakistan, all thanks to the beneficence of  Saudi Arabia, teaching the most dangerous and the most primitive form of islam, would remain inside Pakistan and not migrate and flourish around the world in the form it was intended to?

The intention of all that brainwashing was to fester the world with thousands, if not tens of thousands of  jihadis.  Look at what the UK Muslims of Pakistani origin are doing to the young white girls in Britain.  Look at the percentage  of rape cases committed in that country by Pakistanis. Wahhabism teaches that women are to be looked on as nothing but slaves and should not be allowed outside the house without a male relative.  A woman seen outside in the streets, on her own, is seen as a prostitute and can be handled as a sex object. And, that's exactly what the refugees in EU have been doing.

Take it for granted that most of the sexual assaults happening in the EU these days, will on further investigation into the identities of the Muslims involved, be revealed to be primarily men from Pakistan and Afghanistan and maybe even from Bangladesh.

The journalist in the article below has done a very good job of investigative reporting which brings to light that Pakistani men are also deeply embedded in war-torn Syria.

Pakistan’s Hand in the Rise of International Jihad
PRESIDENT ASHRAF GHANI of Afghanistan has warned in several recent interviews that unless peace talks with Pakistan and the Taliban produce results in the next few months, his country may not survive 2016. Afghanistan is barely standing, he says, after the Taliban onslaught last year, which led to the highest casualties among civilians and security forces since 2001.

“How much worse will it get?” Mr. Ghani asked in a recent television interview. “It depends on how much regional cooperation we can secure, and how much international mediation and pressure can be exerted to create rules of the game between states.”....

....Further along the border in Paktika Province, Taliban fighters occupied abandoned C.I.A. bases and outposts. A legislator from the region warned me that they would use the positions to project attacks deeper into Afghanistan and even up to Kabul. Some of the most devastating suicide bomb attacks occurred in that province in the months that followed.

Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the Haqqani network, the most potent branch of the Taliban, moved from North Waziristan into the adjacent district of Kurram. From there it continues to enjoy safe haven and conduct its insurgency against American, international and Afghan targets....

....Perhaps most troubling, there are reports that Pakistan had a role in the rise of the Islamic State.

Ahead of Pakistan’s 2014 operation in North Waziristan, scores, even hundreds, of foreign fighters left the tribal areas to fight against President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Tribesmen and Taliban members from the area say fighters traveled to Quetta, and then flew to Qatar. There they received new passports and passage to Turkey, from where they could cross into Syria. Others traveled overland along well-worn smuggling routes from Pakistan through Iran and Iraq.

The fighters arrived just in time to boost the sweeping offensive by ISIS into Iraq and the creation of the Islamic State in the summer of 2014.....
.... If these accounts are correct, Pakistan was cooperating with Qatar, and perhaps others, to move international Sunni jihadists (including 300 Pakistanis) from Pakistan’s tribal areas, where they were no longer needed, to new battlefields in Syria. It is just another reminder of Pakistan’s central involvement in creating and managing violent jihadist groups, one Pakistani politician, who spoke on the condition of anonymity when talking about intelligence affairs, told me....

Together at last ... after almost 1000 years

So glad to see powers-that-be were not able to keep the Catholic Pope and the Orthodox Christianity Patriarch from reconciling after almost a 1000 yr split.
Do you hear the gnashing of teeth and the spurting of blood from the eyes of the evil enemies of mankind on our Earth?  I can feel the evil vibes from the warmongering beasts.

From USAToday
Pope, patriarch meet in Cuba nearly 1,000 years after split
Despite famine, religious wars, worldwide conflict and the spread of civilization, the heads of the Roman Catholic and the Russian Orthodox churches haven't spoken since the Great Schism of 1054 shattered Christendom, so they had a lot of catching up to do when they sat down for their historic meeting Friday afternoon in Cuba.
No pope has ever visited Russia. En route to the historic visit Friday, journalists asked Francis if a visit to the nation is on his papal bucket list. “China and Russia, I have them here,” Francis said, pointing to his heart. “Pray.”....
Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill embraced and kissed one another three times on the cheek as they met in the wood-paneled VIP room at Havana's José Martí International Airport. The two church leaders then proceeded to a pair of straight-backed chairs turned at angles.

After another round of handshakes for the cameras and greetings with members of their entourages, the two men sat and began talking. Clasping their hands in their laps, both occasionally gestured and nodded as they spoke. They were scheduled to hold a two-hour "personal conversation" and then sign a joint declaration.

The split between the two churches nearly 1,000 years ago has festered over issues such as the primacy of the pope and accusations by the Russian Orthodox Church that the Catholic Church tries to poach converts in Russia......

The dementia of Denmark

In the madmen nations where Islam reigns supreme, women get raped and oft times, when they report the rapes, the women themselves have to face penalties.  This kind of stupidity happens in Denmark too.  Let this be a wakeup call to those who think that the Islamic kind of  lunacy and misogyny is the lot suffered by women only where Islam is practiced. There are governments in the Western world too who are becoming more and more Islamic minded.  Look around you ... I dare you !

Solitary confinement = Torture by another name in US prisons

Solitary Confinement does not leave any bruises or marks on your body, only on your mental health.  America does not have enough lunatics running around all over our world, so let the solitary confinement torture continue, eh?

John Kiriakou writes:
.....Many Americans think that solitary is reserved for the worst and most dangerous criminals. In most cases, that’s simply not true. Solitary is used not for the safety of inmates or prison guards, but as a punishment and as an expression of power by guards.

For example, a prisoner can be sent to solitary for “insolence” or for “investigation.” What does that mean? Anything the guard wants it to.

Talk back to an officer? Solitary! Take more than 15 minutes to eat your meal? Solitary! An anonymous source accuses you of gambling? Straight to solitary.

When an inmate is sent to solitary, the prison’s internal investigators are supposed to begin an inquiry into his or her behavior. They’re given 90 days to do it, after which the prisoner should be released back to the prison’s general population.

But in fact, the investigators can renew the 90-day solitary period for a full year. That’s an entire year living in a small gray room the size of a walk-in closet with no human contact. It would make just about anybody crazy.....

.....Ohio recently banned solitary for juveniles. That’s terrific. But until each and every state addresses this human rights issue, ours will be a nation that officially practices torture.....

So .... what's up in the Ukraine?

While the world is focused on Syria and the invasion of refugees to EU from Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Nigeria, Iraq and from every country where the USA and NATO have meddled, bombed, killed and uprooted those now fleeing to Europe - let's read below what's going on in the Ukraine.  Remember the Ukraine, the country that USA and Canada "brought out of Russian influence" ?  Yup, that Ukraine!

A good place, if you desire to know more on the situation in the Ukraine or on Russia, after reading the articles below, the The Saker blog has most of the nitty-gritty.  Here's the latest  report of Feb 4 from that blog.

Michael Jabara Carley writes
Ukraine: Still Smouldering Tinderbox (I)

The international situation is very dangerous. Syria seems to be holding everyone’s attention, but the Ukrainian tinderbox still smoulders. Fascists hold power in Kiev. They do not miss an opportunity to make provocative declarations or commit hostile acts against Russia or against Russian people in Ukraine. The Kiev junta is a repressive, murderous regime intolerant of political opposition.

Former Nazi collaborators like Stepan Bandera have been transformed into national heroes remembered in torch light parades evocative of Nazi Germany. Violence is exalted and tawdry fascist masculinity is openly celebrated.

Recently, Petro Poroshenko, the president of Ukraine declared that in 2016 the junta would retake control of the Donbass and Crimea. Whilst the fate of the Donbass remains uncertain, the status of Crimea is clear. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said recently, Crimea is an integral part of the Russian Federation and there is nothing to «negotiate» about it. In fact, the only way Ukraine can hope to take over Crimea would be in the aftermath of a Third World War won by the United States and its NATO vassals. To say the least, this is an unlikely eventuality. Not that a world war would overly trouble the burlesque Poroshenko, who still seeks to drag the European Union (EU) and the United States deeper into the Kiev junta’s conflict with Moscow. It is his lone hope for success....

....US intervention in Ukraine is a grave matter and a direct attack on the security of the Russian Federation. It is also an attempt to change the course of history and to break the bonds of culture, religion and kinship dating back more than one thousand years. The first Russian state was established at Kiev in the 9th century. During the Late Medieval and Early Modern periods Ukraine was a contested borderland and no-man’s land between Muscovy, then tsarist Russia, Poland-Lithuania and the Ottoman Empire. Before 1991 Ukraine never existed as an independent state, or did so only in Kiev for a few months in 1918 and 1919, and then as a puppet regime of Wilhelmine Germany or France. It is ironic that so-called Ukrainian «nationalists», then as now, could only establish their putative authority under foreign domination. Then as now, foreign powers seek to use a Ukrainian client state as a place d’armes or as a proxy to attack Russian power in Moscow....

Ukraine: Still Smouldering Tinderbox (II)

Back in the 1930s, the Soviet government knew better how to deal with the Nazis. Fashizm – eto voina was a well-known Soviet slogan, fascism means war. Only after six vain years of attempts to organise an anti-Nazi coalition with the West did the Soviet government seek to buy time by signing the Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact in August 1939, another example, incidentally, of sinuous Russian diplomacy. Come to think of it, one might even compare the Minsk accords to the non-aggression pact. «Play for time», the strategy seems to be in Moscow: count on a favourable turn of events, hope for a genuine implementation of Minsk leading to the end of fascism in Ukraine, and obtain security and real autonomy for the Donbass. If these scenarios sound like wishful thinking, they are, for the Kiev junta has not respected the Minsk accords for a single day.....

Beheadings, Crucifixions and Lashings are the norm in USA-created Utopia of Libya

What's BBC up to by giving us a long article on what's happening in Libya? I presume, this is how brainwashing of the sheeple is done these days.   We have known about all the atrocities listed, including the posters put up all over Libya instructing Libyan women to cover themselves in black shrouds ... but we have learned about those mainly through the alternative media.  I suspect the MSM has been instructed by the powers-that-be, that they can now go ahead and bombard us with the facts of the jihadi crimes in Libya BECAUSE the powers-that-be want the public to be softened up to the level of malleable putty we become just before USA and NATO are  ready to invade a country to save "those good people from the bad guys" by pulling at our heart strings. So, while reading the stuff below from one of the main brainwashers of our time, the BBC, keep that in mind.
Look at the last pic. According to the article that's where the new jihadis are "re-educated" on how to become  satan's disciples.

Control and crucifixions:  Life in Libya under IS
Five years after the violent uprising that brought down Libya's Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, fighters from so-called Islamic State (IS) have established a base in the coastal city of Sirte.

With an estimated 1,500 fighters in the city, they have started to impose their own rule of law, with dress codes for men and women, segregation in school classrooms and the establishment of a religious police.

Punishments inflicted on residents, for crimes ranging from theft or alcohol production to "spying", include imprisonment, amputations, public crucifixions and beheadings. The group has set up its own "police force" and is reported to be carrying out house to house searches and forcing people to attend Islamic re-education classes.

The head of intelligence in nearby Misrata says most of the IS fighters who control Sirte are foreigners - from Tunisia, Iraq or Syria.

Access to the city is dangerous for journalists and there is limited communication with people who live there - often for fear of retributions. We spoke to people who have been forced to leave the city, to escape Islamic State....

....Leaflets and letters have been distributed to shopkeepers and public sector workers inviting them to "re-education" courses run by Islamic State.

...There are also other nationalities in the ranks of IS that we either noticed from their accents or looks. They included Tunisians and Egyptians. They were not just Arabs. In April 2015, there was a special parade welcoming people they said were Boko Haram fighters from Nigeria.....

....IS have their command centre next to the domed, marble-clad Ougadougou Conference Centre - built by Muammar Gaddafi to host pan-African summits.

The centre is now used for courses where IS members instruct employees in the importance of adhering to their version of Islamic law.

The letters warn: "Whoever does not attend will be liable to questioning." ....

...I saw at least one myself being crucified. Later, I heard and read about 17 more, including my friend Sharaf Aldeen and his brother (the salafi cleric) sheikh Meftah Abu Sittah. Both were killed then crucified.....

......Daesh attacks have never stopped. They know they don't have the resources to overpower the oil port. So they're resorting to hit and run tactics, including setting fuel containers on fire. Their very last attack was on Saturday (30 January).

We're not living in a state of full war, yet it's not completely peaceful. People are trying to live some sort of normal life. That's why schools have reopened after they were closed at the start of January.

I was in Sirte myself in late December. I still have friends there. Communication is hard because lines have been cut. Those who left went out through the west of the city towards Misrata. ....

....The Islamic State group is estimated to have no more than 2,000 to 3,000 fighters across the country, according to a United Nations report published in December 2015. Their fighters are mainly split between Derna and Sirte - with around 1,500 of them in Sirte - where they have taken control of the state-run radio station and broadcast speeches by IS religious leaders. ....

...IS numbers in the capital, Tripoli, are believed to be marginal - with only 12 to 24 operating as a cell in the city, the report suggests. However, they have been able to carry out high-level attacks, including a strike on the Corinthia Hotel in January 2015, which left eight people dead, and an assault on a prison inside Tripoli's Mitiga airbase in September.

IS militants having been trying to push eastwards from Sirte and have carried out a number of attacks on the oil facilities at Sidra and Ras Lanuf since the start of January 2016....

USA can wage wars here, there, everywhere ... but can't fix a broken gas pipe spewing methane in California ?

Methane leak in California gets company into major trouble as criminal charges have been filed today.  The question is: How will that solve the problem which is still ongoing?  Hasn't it been 2 months+ since this accident?  So ... waging wars in Muslim nations and engineering coups all over the world is easier than fixing a broken gas pipe?  Sheesh!!
From CBC:
Southern California Gas Co.  needs to be held responsible, district attorney says
Los Angeles prosecutors filed misdemeanor criminal charges Tuesday against a utility for failing to immediately report a natural gas leak that has been gushing nonstop for nearly 15 weeks.

District Attorney Jackie Lacey said the charges aren't a solution to the problem, but Southern California Gas Co. needs to be held responsible for the leak that has uprooted more than 4,400 families.
The charges came the same day the state attorney general joined a long line of others in suing the gas company for the blowout that has spewed more than 1.8 million tonnes of climate-changing methane since October.

Lawmakers in Congress have urged the U.S. secretary of energy to investigate the leak, and federal regulators are crafting new safety standards for underground natural gas storage facilities.....

From CBC dated Dec 31
Methane leak in California a 'major catastrophe'
Leak 'largest ever recorded' could take 4 months to stop
About 42 kilometres from Los Angeles, above the houses nestled in the mountains of Porter Ranch, Calif., a plume of methane is shooting into the sky. The cloud is invisible but it stretches for kilometres, as though a forest fire has been continually burning for months. All of this is emanating from a tiny pipe about 20 centimetres wide, more than a kilometre underground.

"The amount of methane and natural gas that's coming out of the Aliso Canyon Facility really is probably one of the largest volumes of gas ever recorded from a single leak," says Tim O'Connor, an oil and gas ....

Moldova on the move to becoming a mini Ukraine?

Vid below is from VICE News.  I suspect that VICE gets a nice big chunk of financing from the powers-that-be so don't take everything you are fed via the vid as the truth and nothing but the truth.
I suspect we will continue to see all small statelets outside but near the EU, clamoring to join it.  They won't mind sacrificing a few liberties, heck they won't mind throwing away all their liberties if doing so will mean they will get all the goodies that the EU and its godfather the USA promises to bestow on them for the small, small payment of installing a military base on their soil. Russia needs to be contained, doncha know?!

Corruption and Scandal: Crisis in Moldova (Dispatch 1)
Moldovans have been protesting against their government for months. They allege that their leaders are deeply corrupted after a billion-dollar banking scandal hit the country in 2015. The former prime minister, Vlad Filat, was arrested and detained for suspected involvement.

Pro-European and pro-Russian parties are working together to lead the protests. They demand that the prime minister step down, and that the government hold early elections. But given the influence of powerful oligarchs in the country, it's far from certain whether new leadership would even bring real change.

VICE News went to Moldova to speak to the opposition parties and find out how the theft of $1 billion from the banking system is affecting people in this impoverished country.

World's #1 Diplomat: Russia's Sergey Lavrov

Like I have said many times before today, Russia's Foreign Minister is a Diplomat par excellence.

From ConsortiumNews:
A Russian Diplomat’s Take on the World
As the West’s mainstream media portrays Russia as a crazy rogue state, Moscow’s thoughtful critiques of world affairs are ignored, not fitting the propaganda theme. Such was the case when Foreign Minister Lavrov explained why there would be no more “business as usual” with the West, as Gilbert Doctorow describes.

By Gilbert Doctorow
On Jan. 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held an important year-in-review press conference before an audience of about 150 journalists, including the BBC correspondent Steve Rosenberg and many other well-known representatives of mainstream Western media. The purpose of this annual event is to look back at issues faced by his Ministry over the past year and to give his appraisal of results achieved.

Lavrov’s opening remarks were concise, lasting perhaps 15 minutes, and the remaining two hours were turned over to the floor for questions. As the microphone was passed to journalists from many different countries, the discussion covered a great variety of subjects, including the likelihood of a new “re-set” with the United States, the negotiations over re-convening the Syrian peace talks in Geneva, British Prime Minister David Cameron’s comments on the findings of a U.K. public inquest into the Litvinenko murder, the possibilities for reestablishing diplomatic relations with Georgia, and prospects for resolving conflicting claims over the Southern Kurile islands so as to conclude a peace treaty with Japan.

To the best of my knowledge, not a single report of the event has yet appeared on major online American, French, British and German newspaper portals or television channels. This was not for lack of substance or newsworthy sound bites, including Lavrov’s headline comment that he agreed with Western leaders who said there would be “no business as usual” between Russia and the West.

As part of his opening comments, Lavrov said, “Our Western colleagues sometimes declare with passion that there can no longer be ‘business as usual with Russia.’ I am convinced that this is so and here we agree: there will be no more ‘business as usual’ when they tried to bind us with agreements which take into account above all the interests of either the European Union or the United States and they wanted to persuade us that this will do no harm to our interests. That history is over and done with. A new stage of history is dawning which can develop only on the basis of equal rights and all other principles of international law.”

Regarding a similar news blackout that followed another major Russian press briefing, the sharp-tongued Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented, what are ....

When man screws with Nature, Nature returns the favor and wins every single time

According to the below, the Zika virus or the kind of mosquito responsible for the virus, is originally from Uganda.
However, rumor has it that experiments to genetically modify the male species of this mosquito type, which were conducted with the  best of intentions, at an USA-run lab in Brazil,  might have gone astray,  because doncha know ... scientists always know what's best for us.

Read the article below the vid to gauge why and how.

From AntiMedia:
Zika Outbreak Epicenter   in Same Area Where GM Mosquitoes Were Released in 2015
The World Health Organization announced it will convene an Emergency Committee under International Health Regulations on Monday, February 1, concerning the Zika virus ‘explosive’ spread throughout the Americas. The virus reportedly has the potential to reach pandemic proportions — possibly around the globe. But understandingwhy this outbreak happened is vital to curbing it. As the WHO statement said:

“A causal relationship between Zika virus infection and birth malformations and neurological syndromes … is strongly suspected. [These links] have rapidly changed the risk profile of Zika, from a mild threat to one of alarming proportions.
“WHO is deeply concerned about this rapidly evolving situation for 4 main reasons: the possible association of infection with birth malformations and neurological syndromes; the potential for further international spread given the wide geographical distribution of the mosquito vector; the lack of population immunity in newly affected areas; and the absence of vaccines, specific treatments, and rapid diagnostic tests […]

“The level of concern is high, as is the level of uncertainty.”

Zika seemingly exploded out of nowhere. Though it was first discovered in 1947, cases only sporadically occurred throughout Africa and southern Asia. In 2007, the first case was reported in the Pacific. In 2013, a smattering of small outbreaks and individual cases were officially documented in Africa and the western Pacific. They also began showing up in the Americas. In May 2015, Brazil reported its first case of Zika virus — and the situation changed dramatically.

Brazil is now considered the epicenter of the Zika outbreak, which coincides with at least 4,000 reports of babies born with microcephaly just since October.....

....Those genetically-modified mosquitoes work to control wild, potentially disease-carrying populations in a very specific manner. Only the male modified Aedes mosquitoes are supposed to be released into the wild — as they will mate with their unaltered female counterparts. Once offspring are produced, the modified, scientific facet is supposed to ‘kick in’ and kill that larvae before it reaches breeding age — if tetracycline is not present during its development. But there is a problem.....

Sunni culture rich in suicide bombing and "honor" killing, calls for genocide of Alawite "animals" including their children

Yup! The vid below is from Al Jazeera Arabic catering to the Sunni audience in the Middle East.  I am talking about Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and the rest of the MidEast Sunni madmen nations that have no tolerance whatsever for even their own co-religionists  of  slightly varied stripes. How do you think they look upon non-Muslims if this is what they think of Shiites and Alawites.  Watch the venom coming from the man hosting the show on Al Jazeera, the two-faced medium which spurts out such genocidal hatred of Shiites to their MidEast audience while showing an angelic face to the sheeple in the West.

Eric Zuesse at StrategicCulture
America’s Arab Allies Debate Need for Genocide Against ‘Infidels’

Two key allies of the United States are the fundamentalist Sunni governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia – two countries whose ruling families are (like the US Government) hostile to countries that are ruled by Shiites, particularly Iran and Syria. (In Syria, Alawites, including the leader Bashar al-Assad, are the predominant Shia group.)

Qatar is owned by the anti-Shiite Thani family; Saudi Arabia is owned by their friends the anti-Shiite Saud family. All of the Arabic royal families are Sunnis who support one-another, and the leading family of them all, and the world’s wealthiest by far, are the Sauds. Here was a news-report that CNN refused to air because it showed Saudi soldiers using American tanks against Shiites in Bahrain who were peacefully demonstrating for their rights; another report there shows the fired reporter herself, courageously talking about American censorship.

The US Government is trying to shut off Russian oil and gas westward into Europe (that’s one reason why Obama perpetrated a coup in Ukraine to switch Ukraine against Russia and close down Russia’s pipelines through Ukraine to Europe), and replace it with oil and gas northward into Europe from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, both of which are top buyers of US weaponry. According to various measures, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela have the most oil (and Saudi oil is the world’s cheapest to extract, so it’s far more valuable); and Russia and Iran have the most gas. Qatar is #3 on gas, and Iran is #4 on oil. So: those are the actual giant players. Syria’s Assad blocks the construction of a Qatari gas-pipeline into Europe, and of a Saudi oil-pipeline into Europe; Europe is by far the world’s largest energy-market. So, there’s a Sunni-versus-Shiite war, between Sunni royals and Shiite governments; and Assad also blocks Obama’s plan to replace Russian oil-and-gas sales with Sunni oil-and-gas sales. Militarily, Sunni nations boost sales of US weaponry, whereas Russia is America’s biggest competitor in the weapons-sales markets, and supplies weapons to Shiite countries. So: it’s US and the Sunni royals, versus Russia and the Shiite leaders. If there will be another world war, those are already the principals in it.

Each of those Sunni royal families owns, within his (and females are their property, so only males own things there) country, key news-media (TV networks, newspapers, etc.), and other means of educating the public to be a subject that the ruling family accepts and approves.

The Thanis own Al Jazeera TV, which broadcasts a Westernized line in English for for Western PR, but a more traditional Arabic tribal and Islamic line in their native Arabic, to keep their subjects in line.

Here, on Al Jazeera Arabic, is a debate concerning whether to exterminate Alawites. English subtitles have been added so that Westerners can understand what the Thanis are presenting to their countrymen. The program-host favors extermination of Syria’s Shiites called «Alawites» (especially Assad), but the program’s guest is arguing to the contrary......
